Rikke’s research focuses on the design, development, testing and implementation of digital interventions aiming to improve health and healthcare. With special interest in how design of technologies and services can facilitate health behavior change and self-management of health and wellbeing of people with chronic conditions. Her PhD project, eCHANGE, examines the potential for a digital (eHealth) intervention supporting adults with obesity in long-term weight maintenance after weight loss. Rikke is also involved in eBATTLE, a digital behavior change intervention for adolescents with severe obesity. By combining design research, behavioral and health sciences to design personalized interventions that improve people’s health behaviors and their health. The focus is on how to design, develop and deliver interventions that support individuals values, needs and preferences to enhance adherence, engagement and effectiveness of digital behavior change interventions.
