Project summary
Patient-centred communication and incorporating patients’ illness experiences into patient care are high priority health policy goals. This is however difficult to accomplish without methods and systems that assist patients and health care personnel in sharing experiences and integrating information in ways preferred by these stakeholders. The purpose of this project is to develop a new eHealth self-management support solution for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), aiming to enhance patient-provider communication (“eSupport”).
The project proceeds in close collaboration and co-creation (service design) between stakeholders, including scientists, patients and healthcare providers. The eSupport project and the developed solution have the potential to contribute to patient mobilization and activation and in close collaboration with users to optimize collaborative care services for patients with IBD.
